Ivoire Marionnettes is a theatrical phenomenon from the Ivory Coast. Young talented puppeteers from Abidjan represent the top of puppet theatre in West Africa. They have also made a name for themselves at various festivals in Europe, especially in France. For the second time, they have won the Gold Medal at the prestigious Francophonie Games. Among others, for their latest performance, La Boule Bleue (The Blue Ball), with its giant puppets, which are the company’s speciality and enchant audiences of all generations. The story is simple: One day, a large blue ball appears in infinite space. It felt abandoned. So the creator populated it with people of different colours. But these people spoke a thousand languages and each wanted to usurp a part of the space for themselves. But the blue sphere had had enough of all the strife, awakened its senses, and so its eyes, ears, mouth and nose worked together to think how to resolve the situation. Until they got the idea of giving people a language to communicate with. Thus was born diversity and solidarity between people.

The puppet performance won the hearts of audiences in Africa and Europe with its unconventional rendition of the humanist message of tolerance and mutual understanding. Now, for the first time, audiences in the Czech Republic will also see it.
